Medici Collections

16th Century Florence was the centre of Renaissance art and academia. It was during this period that the Grand Duke Francesco I researched and developed a method of producing the first European porcelain attempting for the first time to achieve results similar to those found in China many centuries earlier.

Four centuries later only 50 pieces of the renowned Medici porcelain remain in the great museums of the world.

Following the centuries old Florentine tradition Mancioli have recreated pieces from the Medici collection using the same prduction methods, clays, enamels and firings of the original 16th century pieces (click here).
